Gwendolyn "Gwen" Webb Dubose

Gwendolyn "Gwen" Webb DuBose,81, of Monetta, passed away on December 24, 2021, with all of her family present. Born in Barnwell, Gwen was the daughter of the late Dr. Marion Buel "M.B." Webb and Winnie Fallaw Webb. She was a graduate of Furman University, received a Master's Degree from USC, and was an educator for her entire career in Salley and Ridge Spring. Gwen also taught in summer school to educate the children of Ridge Spring's seasonal workers. She was an active church member and Bible Study leader. After retiring as a teacher, she continued her ministry as a music leader at Oak Grove Baptist Church and then Mt. Ebal Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brother, Marion Webb. As well as her four sons, Geer (Lisa), Eric (Lori), Brian (Shannon) and Chance (Tara). She was the very proud grandmother of Chandler (Kaitlyn), Hunter (Jade), Carter, Eric, JR (Meredith), Collin (Dana), Caleb, Rebekah, Elizabeth, Sarah, and Leah. She was delighted as well in 2021 with her great granddaughter, Lainey Michelle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Burnett DuBose.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 27th at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church. The Celebration of her Life will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the church with the graveside service immediately following at Ridge Spring Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Paulling will officiate.
