James Fredrick Burkett

A funeral mass for Mr. James Fredrick Burkett will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at 2pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Mr. Burkett, 80, of Aiken, died Saturday, December 2, 2006 at his residence.

Mr. Burkett was born in Detroit, MI to the late Gordon and Bertha Mary Shafer Burkett. Before moving to Aiken in 2000, Jim lived in Pinehurst, NC and Detroit MI. Jim served his country in the Army during World War II. He served as a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. In his retirement, Jim loved his family, music, golf, computers and so much more... but will be remembered most for his wonderful sense of humor.

Mr. Burkett is survived by his wife of fifty three years, Geraldine Kott Burkett, and children, Monica JC Malpeli, James Julie Burkett, Carol Mabeus, Anne Mejia, Gregory Burkett, Jocelyn Burkett, and Brian Diane Burkett, sister, Mary JoTony Wolf, and thirteen grandchildren.
