Jenny Lynn Massey

Jenny Lynn Massey, 65, of Leesville, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Prisma Health Richland surrounded by her family. Mrs. Massey was born in Marion County, SC, a daughter of Gladys Richardson and the late Thomas Wesley Wallace. She was the wife of the late Joel Harris Massey. Mrs. Massey was a lady of many talents due to her eclectic career choices but her passion was building. She started out roofing newly built chicken houses in the mid 80's to one of the first female construction superintendents in the state by the mid 90's. She was co-founder and on the board of directors for Heart & Soul Ministries in Batesburg-Leesville for 10 years. She was a beautiful soul, an amazing mother, a devoted wife, and loyal friend. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Surviving are her children, Jessica (Leon) Hutto of Saluda, Christopher Dooley of Lexington, Ben Dooley of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Joel "J.T." Thomas Hutto of Saluda, Bryson Hutto of West Columbia, Carlee Hutto of Irmo. She is also survived by a sister, Jewell (David) Hammons of Simpsonville, and a brother, Tom (Terrie) Wallace II of Myrtle Beach; as well as nieces and nephews.

The memorial service for Mrs. Massey will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 23rd at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Tager officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Following the memorial service a gathering of friends will be held at Zeddies in Lexington located at 203 US 378, Lexington, South Carolina.
