Jerry Wayne Hooks

A memorial service for Mr. Jerry Wayne Hooks will take place on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 3pm at the chapel of George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken with Chaplain Dexter Lamber officiating. Mr. Hooks, 74, of Aiken, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at his residence. A son of the late L. C. Hooks and Vera Foster Hooks, he was born in China Grove, NC and had lived briefly in Statesville, NC before moving to Aiken forty-one years ago.

During his life he worked in finance banking, bridge building and finally working on the family farm before retiring. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and as a man who had a knack for making friends easily and he will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Deal Hooks, Aiken; three sons, Dale Wayne Carolyn Hooks, Aiken, Donald L. Laurie Hooks, Aiken and Christopher N. Donna Hooks, Aiken; a daughter, Rebecca H. Mike O'Rear, Aiken; grandchildren, Nathan Brittney Hooks, Lauren O'Rear, Jessica H. Brandon Greene, Melissa Hooks, Michael O'Rear, Kimberly Hooks and Cameron Hooks and one great granddaughter, Anniston Hooks.
