Joe Van Hartley

Joe Van Hartley, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 9th at Clamp Cemetery. The Pastor Tom Mims will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 8th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Chuck, Mitch, Michael, and Richard Hartley, Newton Walker and Tony Leaphart.

Mr. Hartley was born in Batesburg, SC, a son of the late Homer Charles and Izona Turner Hartley. He was the owner and operator of Joe's Auto Parts for 50 years. Mr. Hartley loved drag racing and Ford Mustangs.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Doretha Clamp Hartley; sons, Robert and Scott Hartley; grandchidlren, Rachel Hartley Kelly (Steve), Elizabeth Kneece (Michael), and Richard Hartley. Also surviving are his sister, Mary Vaughn. In addition to to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Terry Hartley; brothers, Lamont and Bland Hartley; and a sister, Ann Burns.
