Funeral services for Mr. John J. Edwards will be held Saturday December 1, 2007 at 2pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken. Interment will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Jason P. Geier will officiate and Brother Jessie Lewallen and Daniel Edwards, Jr. will speak. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Danny Edwards, Jr., Danny Almond, Jessie Lewallen, Ryan Jolly, David Garvin and Aaron Silva.

Mr. Edwards, 70, of Jackson formerly of Hollywood Fl, died Tuesday November 27, 2007 at Doctors Hospital, Augusta.

Born in Johnstown, PA, John was one of twelve children born to the late John E. and Edna Grow Edwards. He graduated from Johnstown High School. He married Betty Lucille Crosby in June of 1979. He had worked for the TECO Gas Co. for twenty seven year as a truck driver, hauling LP GAS He should be remembered as a man who loved family, worked hard, watched TV, visited friends, and loved to go to Church. He was a member of the Free Pentecostal Tabernacle in Hollywood, FL.

In addition to his parents Mr. Edwards was predeceased by a son Douglas Edwards, and four brothers & sisters. He is survived by his wife of over twenty eight years; Lucille Crosby Edwards, three sons; David Edwards, Iowa, Danny Edwards, North Carolina, and Darryl Edwards, Florida, one daughter; Diana Sheets, Iowa, a step daughter; Kimberly Rudnick, Florida, six sisters; Mary Baxendale, Cynthia Eisenhute and Marilyn Lamby, all of Pennsylvania, Helen Sides and Twila Slagle, both of Florida, Hulda Locher, Maryland and a brother; Jimmy Edwards, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by several grandchildren and one great grand daughter.
