John Thomas Icenhour, Jr, 79, of Leesville, passed away, Friday, September 15, 2023. Born in Mountain City, Tennessee, he was a son of the late John Thomas Icenhour, Sr. and Anna Mae Potter. He was the co-owner of the former Smoothy's Restaurant in Batesburg, SC. Mr. Icenhour was a welder and blacksmith by trade. He loved to go hunting and fishing, telling stories, tinkering in his shop listening to the oldies on the radio and sitting on the back porch watching the deer. Mr. Icenhours' passion in life was his beloved family and he was a man of God.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, JoAnn Julius Icenhour; sons, John Thomas Icenhour, III, Scott Icenhour and Russell Icenhour, Sr. all of Leesville; grandchildren, Russell Icenhour, Jr. (Adriadne), Brittany Kaigler (Russ), Joshua Icenhour (Kera), Nicola Holtzheimer (Dalton); great grandchildren, Mia and Sophie Icenhour, Landi Icenhour, Aubrey Ann Kaigler; step-sister, Myrtle Icenhour and Laura Hodge; and many extended cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Daddezio, Velma Jean Baird; brothers, Paul and Frankie Icenhour; step-father, Paul Potter; step-siblings, Cecil and Paul Potter, Dorothy Able and Madge Sexton.
The funeral service for Mr. Icenhour will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 21st, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with the Rev. Judd Hook officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A private family burial will be held at Mount Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Aston, PA.
