Joyce Leona Shumpert

Joyce Leona Shumpert, 83, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 14th, at Pine Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bud Moss will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ms. Shumpert was born in Leesville, SC, a daughter of the late Clarence and Jessie Baughman. She was married to the late George B. “Doc” Shumpert. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children, Carolyn Leopard (Dale), Stacy Shumpert (Trish), Tim Shumpert (Aimee); grandchildren, Diana Richardson (Craig), Jason Massey (Erin), Samuel and Megan Shumpert, and Rebecca, Daniel, and Brian Shumpert; and three great grandchildren, Avrie and Caleb Richardson and Jameson Massey. Also surviving are her sister, Janie Ruth Smith. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold and Donald Ray “Sonny” Baughman.
