Judy Gail Matte

Judy Gail Shirey Matte, 76, of Prosperity, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025.Born in Vallejo, California, Judy was the daughter of the late Earl J. and Emma Jene Fenton Shirey. She was the beloved wife of the late Vinest Matte, Jr. Judy worked as an administrative assistant in the Florida school system and had a passion for sewing.

Surviving are her sons, David Messer, Bobby Messer (Danielle), and Chuck Messer (Beth); granddaughter, Maddie; and sister, Donna Limke. She is also survived by numerous extended family members.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Judy on Thursday, August 14th, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. A private interment will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband.
