Judy Ann Edwards Price

Judy Ann Edwards Price, 79, of Saluda, SC, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026. Born in Saluda, she was the daughter of the late James Pickens "Pick" Edwards and Mattie Thelma Black Edwards. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her children, Jamie, Chris (Melissa), Tina (Kevin) and Angela (DJ), and their father James, Judy is also survived by her brother-in-law; Jessie "Shorty" Fincher; sisters-in-law, Miriam Priest Mendes and Shirley Price Oswald; her adopted brother, Mark Edwards (Carla) and his siblings, Janice Patrick (Barry), and Roy Dority (Judy), and multiple nieces and nephews. She was a cherished grandmother to Carson (Brittany), Mattie, Tucker, Trevor, Rachel, Jake (Raylynn), and great-grandson Kyle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Edwards; sister, Shirley Fincher; and nephews, Tracey and Stacey Fincher.

Judy will be remembered for her love of cooking and being most happy when she was feeding her family, whether it be a full and hearty breakfast or a meal complete with her delicious homemade yeast rolls. She enjoyed fishing, playing board and card games, and was an avid fan of Elvis Presley. She was talented in crochet and blessed her family with beautiful Afghans she designed. Able to make anything from scratch, she would often surprise us at meals with a dessert she made from a boxed cake mix and a ”little bit of this and that.”

She was sharp with numbers, especially any dates with family and friends, and she committed family history to memory. She enjoyed family reunions and reminiscing with family. Without fail, for every occasion, she was sure to give each of us a card. Above all, Judy was a caregiver. She selflessly and devotedly cared for her uncles, and later her mother Thelma, whom she loved immensely.

The graveside service will be held at 4 o'clock on Sunday, June 28th, at the Edwards Family Cemetery, 2144 Forrest Hills Road, Saluda, with Pastor Myra Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Tina Smith.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Agape Care South Carolina, including her nurse, Shay Holloway, and her CNA Keywanna Burt, for their compassionate and genuine care of Judy and sympathy for our family. The family wishes to also express their sincere and heartfelt love and appreciation to Judy’s caregiver for the last few months, Debbie Waters, who showed Mama so much love and care. Debbie gave sacrificially of her time and attention in helping our mom comfortably live out her last days. Your hand-holding, song playing, scripture reading, storytelling, and comfort care will never be forgotten.
