Larry Lamar Buff, 70, of Leesville, passed away on May 21, 2026, in Augusta, Georgia, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Smyrna, Tennessee, on March 29, 1956, Larry lived a life marked by devotion to his family, his faith, and the simple pleasures that brought him joy.
Larry’s heart was as big as his personality. A lifelong fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, he never missed a game and loved cheering for his team with the same enthusiasm he brought to all areas of life. He found peace and happiness on the waters of Lake Murray, casting a line, enjoying the quiet outdoors, or sharing laughter with friends and family.
Those who knew Larry will remember his unwavering loyalty, his love of good conversation, and his readiness to share a drink and a story with a friend. Whether fishing, hunting, golfing, or simply spending time with those he loved, Larry’s presence was warm, generous, and unforgettable.
Faith was central to Larry’s life. He lived according to his values, cherishing God, family, and friends, and leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and treasured memories that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. Larry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his humor, kindness, and the strength of his spirit.
Larry was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Vickie, and a loving father to his daughters, Bonnie Buff Rinker and Laura Buff Eldridge. He also embraced his stepchildren, Douglas Bledsoe, Holly Powell, and Jonathan Williams, as part of his family. Above all, he delighted in his seven grandchildren, who were a constant source of pride and joy.
A memorial service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held at 12 o’clock Noon on Wednesday, May 27th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Batesburg-Leesville Chapel, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service from 11 until 12 o’clock.
If you knew Larry and would be so inclined, the family invites you to attend in your favorite Georgia Bulldogs attire or in black, red, and white. Go Dawgs!
