Linda Susan Howell

Linda Susan Howell, 63, of Pelion, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Born on June 16, 1962, in Gray Court, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Gordon Randall and Ruby Louise Hurley. Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who treasured her family above all else. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and found great joy in spending time with them. Linda had a vibrant spirit and was known for dancing in the yard with a rake while tending to her yard work, bringing smiles to those around her. She had a deep love for old country music and took pride in keeping a warm, welcoming, and spotless home for family and friends.

Surviving are her children, Tammy Strickland (Mike), George Hurley, and James “JD” Howell; grandchildren, Savannah Eagler and James “Boogie” Howell (Bailey); brothers, Randall Hurley and Sammie Hurley; along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal Louise Hill; and sister, Shirley Hurley.

The memorial service to celebrate the life of Ms. Howell will be held at 2 o'clock on Saturday, May 30th, at Calvary Baptist Church, 130 Berlin Road, Salley, SC 29137, with Pastor Joey Curado officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Ms. Howell.
