Margaret Ann Cullum, 71, died peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ann was born on January 26,1955 to the late Marion David and Margaret Asbill Cullum of Monetta, South Carolina. She graduated from Ridge Spring-Monetta High School and later attended Clemson University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in education and science in 1977. As a member of Chi Omega Sorority, Ann developed many lifelong friendships. Her sorority sisters continued to gather regularly over the years, a tradition Ann deeply cherished.
Ann began her professional life as a salesperson for a television station in Greenville. She later moved to Columbia, where she worked in sales for Motorola until she landed her dream job as a senior pharmaceutical consultant with Ciba-Geigy, which later became Novartis. Ann was a member of the Junior League of Columbia for more than 30 years. She served on the board of directors and chaired two years of the Holiday Market. Ann enjoyed being a volunteer for Sistercare where she answered the Crisis Line.
In addition to her volunteer work, Ann enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved her four dogs and two cats dearly and considered them part of her family. Ann was an avid photographer who enjoyed taking pictures of family and friends as well as beautiful photographs of nature which she frequently made into cards. Ann had a unique zest for life which was evident by her completing goals on her bucket list including scuba diving in Hawaii, sky diving twice and a photo safari in Kenya. In addition to photography, Ann loved reading, gardening and playing bridge.
Ann is survived by her brothers, David Cullum (Susie) of Batesburg-Leesville and John Cullum (Chris Shook) of Birmingham; her nephews, Rodney Cullum (Barbara) of Rock Hill, Curt Cullum (Stephanie) of Leesville, William Cullum (Jeffery Rhodes) of New York, NY, and Det Cullum (Olivia) of Charlotte; as well as two great-nephews and three great-nieces.
