Margaret Rogers Tisdale

November 22, 1917 — March 16, 2007

Mrs. Margaret Rogers Tisdale, 89, died on March 15, 2007, at Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center, Aiken, where she had been a resident for the past eight years.

Survivors include two daughters, DeArbra T. Weaver, of Aiken, and Margaret "Peggy" Stover of Carrolton, GA, brothers, Wallace W. Rogers of White Rock, SC, Robert "Bob" D. Rogers of North Augusta, and James "Jack" J. Rogers of Bennettsville, SC, four grandchildren, Margaret Kathleen Weaver of Atlanta, GA, DeArbra Michelle Seigler of Columbia, Brien T. Carroll of Florida, Cheryl Parham of Candler, NC, two great-grandchildren, Trevor Seigler, and Victoria Seigler, both of Columbia. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Brogdon Tisdale, her eldest daughter, Carol T. Carew, two sisters, Dorothy F. Hogg, Emma Lee Benton, and brother, George M. Rogers.

Born in 1917, she was the daughter of the late Reverend and Mrs. George McCall Rogers. A Graduate of Limestone College, she began her teaching career in Dunbarton, SC. She later taught Special Education for many years in Orangeburg, SC until retiring to Edisto Beach, SC. She remained a devoted member of Edisto Beach Baptist Church until her death.

The family will receive friends at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken, on Saturday, March 17, 2007, from 6-8pm. Graveside services and burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Orangeburg, SC, on Sunday, March 18, 2007 at 3pm. Pastor James A. Duncan of Foreman Baptist Church in New Ellenton will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Edisto Beach Baptist Church, Regency Hospice, Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center, or a charity of one's choice.
