Marie T. Wilson

Marie T. Wilson, 88, of Leesville, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025. She was a beloved daughter of the late John L. Trotter and Aileen Kneece Trotter. A lifetime and active member of First Baptist Church of Leesville, Marie dedicated herself to her faith and her community. She worked for Southern Bell as an operator until her retirement. Known for her love of baking and her willingness to lend a helping hand, she touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. She also enjoyed water skiing.

Marie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Wilson Franklin (Stacy); grandchildren, Breanna Franklin, Nicole Reid, Dylan Franklin, Shelly Franklin Seth Hall, and Thomas Franklin; 11 great grandchildren. Mrs. Wilson is also survived by her twin sister, Yvonne Benton and brother, Billy Trotter; along with several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Wilson and a brother, John Trotter.

The service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wilson will be held at 1 o'clock on Sunday, December 28th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Batesburg-Leesville Chapel. Mrs. Beverly Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Crest Memorial Park. The family will greet friends immediately following at the graveside.
