Martin William Roberson, 84, of Aiken, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Aiken, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Joseph Howard Roberson and Inez Williams Roberson. Mr. Roberson proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a dedicated member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. Following many years of faithful service, he retired from the United States Postal Service.
A devoted man of faith, Martin was a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was known for his strong work ethic, his love of woodworking, and never turning down a good cup of coffee. Above all, he treasured his family, especially his two beloved grandchildren, with whom he loved spending time and making memories.
Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Daphne Redd Roberson; daughter, Angie Roberson Rhodes and her husband, Hugh; two grandchildren, Aaron Rhodes and Anna Rhodes; brother, Russell Roberson; as well as several nieces and a nephew. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph Howard Robinson, Mary Dell Morris, Charlotte Bush, and Jerry Roberson.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Roberson will be conducted at 4 o’clock on Sunday, May 31st at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Aiken Chapel with Pastor Travis Hoeben officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service beginning, from 3 until 4 o’clock.
