Mary Jane Chapman, 65, of Saluda, passed away on Monday, November 24th. Mary was born in West Virginia, the daughter of the late Harry Turner and Reatha Jane Hudson. She was married to the late George Alan “Pudge"” Chapman. Mary enjoyed watching westerns and crocheting, and she had a special place in her heart for her furbabies and grand furbabies. Most of all, her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. They were her heart and soul. They affectionately called her “Paka,” a name she loved and carried with pride.
Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Deedra Kirkland (Robbie); and her beloved grandchildren, Liberty, Ashley, William and Elijah. She is also survived by her sister, Peggy Oram (Tim); brothers, James Hudson (Chris) and John Bond; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary will be remembered for her big heart, speaking her mind, and the love she poured into her family.
The funeral service for Mary will be held at 3 o'clock on Thursday, December 4th at Amick Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. Family and friends may visit prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock in the church sanctuary.
