Mary Watson Turner

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Mary S. Turner will take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11am at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Daniel Braswell officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association or to Foreman Memorial Baptist Church. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center is assisting the Turner family.

Mrs. Turner, 90, of New Ellenton, died July 30, 2009 at her residence. A daughter of the late James R. Smith and Ellen Howard Smith, she was born in Pickens County, SC and had lived in Travelers Rest, SC before moving to New Ellenton in 1951. She was a longtime member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church and was a "Pink Lady" volunteer at Aiken Regional Medical Centers for over fifteen years. She liked to crochet and cook, but loved being with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by two husbands, Byron Turner and Bruce Watson and her son Robert Bruce Watson, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Ann James Arnold, New Ellenton; a Step-children, Corky Turner and Brenda Haney and a brother, Jimmy Brenda Smith, Greenville, SC. She is also survived by six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren.
