Merinn Mae Purcell, of Aiken, South Carolina, was called into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
In her five beautiful years on earth, Merinn filled every space she entered with laughter, color, and boundless love. She possessed a joyful spirit and a heart as radiant as her smile, leaving a lasting impression on all who were blessed to know her. Merinn was fearless and full of life—never afraid to get her hands dirty, explore the world around her, or leap into the next adventure. She loved dresses, glitter, singing, dancing, and dreaming of one day leading the cheer for her big brothers from the sidelines.
Her beloved green rain boots became a symbol of her adventurous heart—always prepared for puddles, play, and discovering joy in even the smallest moments. She delighted in shades of pink and yellow, surrounding herself with colors as bright and beautiful as her spirit. Merinn had a deep love of learning and took great joy in attending Ridge Spring-Monetta Primary School, where her sweet smile, curious mind, and gentle heart touched the lives of classmates, teachers, and friends alike.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, we take comfort in knowing that Merinn now rests in God’s loving care, surrounded by perfect peace and eternal joy.
Merinn will forever be cherished by her loving parents, Tanner and Amanda Purcell; siblings, Kadelyn, Hyder, and Barcer Purcell; maternal grandparents, Patricia Sandoval (Melvin) and David Bullock; paternal grandparents, Aleta and Dan Purcell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who will carry her light and memory in their hearts always.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 o'clock on Saturday, January 10th, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Vollie Gibbs officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Children's Ministry, 164 Mt. Pleasant Road, Ridge Spring, SC 29129.
Arrangements are being handled by Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Batesburg-Leesville Chapel.
