A Funeral Mass for Mr. Mieczyslaw "Mike" Sieczkowski will be held on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 10am at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken, with a wake service at 7pm and at the home of his daughter, Ann Marie Young. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association, 520 Gervais St, Suite 300, Columbia, SC, 29201 or St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 439, Aiken, SC 29802.

Mr. Sieczkowski, 79, of Aiken, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital, Augusta.

Born in Chicago, IL, Mike was the son of the late Stanley and Stella Lewandowicz Sieczkowski. He lived in various cities and countries before moving to Aiken in 1970. He retired from the Air Force after twenty one years of service to our country. After retiring, Mike owned and operated Hero House Subs in Aiken. He was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus in the Monsignor George Lewis Smith Council #3684and Assembly #1074. Mike loved to cook and watch sports, especially the Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but above all else he loved spending time with his family and talking to everyone he encountered.

In addition to his parents, Mike was predeceased by his daughter, Kathleen Sieczkowski Bijas, sister, Harriet Bucholz, and brother, Benny Pinkowski. He is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Jacqueline Janus Sieczkowski, daughter, Ann Marie YoungChris, son, Michael A. Sieczkowski, sister, Loretta Doroba, grandchildren, Emily and Brian Young, a nephew Mark Janus, and other nieces and nephews.
