Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred F. Douglas will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 2:30pm at Foreman Memorial Baptist Church, New Ellenton. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandsons. The family will receive friends at the church from 1pm until the hour of service at the church. GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Shriners Hospital, 950 West Faris St, Greenville, SC, 29605.

Mrs. Douglas, 86, of New Ellenton, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Born in Georgetown, SC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Fenters and Mettie Harrell Fenters. She moved to New Ellenton over fifty years ago. She was a member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church for fifty seven years where she served as the Golden Circle Sunday School Class secretary. She was a member of the WMU and various church activities. Mildred liked to do needle point; she was a seamstress and a very good cook. She enjoyed gardening and going to yard sales. Her most cherished time was spent with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers and a sister. She is survived by her husband of sixty seven years, Richard L. Douglas, son, Wayne Rita Douglas, Edgewater, Fl; daughters, Sharon Rich, Evans, GA; Kay John McKinney, Susan Dwight Hall, both of New Ellenton; sisters, Jacqueline Bubba Elliott, Harleyville, SC; Barbara Wilbur Ivey, Hemingway, SC; sister-in-law, Betty Fenters, Hemingway, SC; grandchildren, Kimberly Hawthorne, Jeffrey Rich, MSgt John Tara McKinney, Joseph McKinney, Arlene Melvin, Jr Flippin, Alison Troy Blanton, Richard Lauren Hall, Carey Johnny Douglas, great grandchildren, Emily Hawthorne, Cassidy McKinney, Alexis McKinney, Arabella Douglas, Carson Flippin, Elizabeth Blanton, Madison Hall, numerous nieces and nephews.
