Miriam Sybil Smith

Miriam Sybil Smith, 83, of Leesville, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022. Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late M.C. Son Watson and Virgie Mae Fallaw Watson. Mrs. Smith was a member of Steadman Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith retired from Union Switch and Signal and later worked at the I20 speedway and Thunder Valley. She also enjoyed crocheting and made a blanket for each great grandkid.

She is survived by her daughters, Syliva Goldman and Donna Tindal (Rocky); grandchildren, Brandy Butler, Amanda Grandy Tindal, Roy Bud Tindal (Amanda); and great grandchildren, Jacob Butler, Taylor Butler, Maggie Grandy, Travis Tindal, Hunter Tindal, RaeLynn Miles and Spencer Tindal. Mrs. Smith is also survived by her sister, Joyce Ann Jordon; and brother, Wyman Watson; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy B. Berry and her late husband, John Smith; and a brother, Maxie Watson.

The service for Mrs. Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9th at Steadman Baptist Church with the Rev. Whittle officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Rocky Gunter, Tracy Gunter, III, Joey Scruggs, Jody Gunter, Barry Shealy and Jeff Clary. Honorary pallbearers will be: Ricky Frick, Tommy Shealy, Larry Stone, Jessie Etheridge, Marvin Powell, Jimmy Mundy, Lewis Broome and Tracy Gunter, II.
