Morgan "Mj" Job Hallman

September 28, 1927 — October 29, 2016

Morgan Job Hallman, 89, of Leesville died Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center Hospice Unit in Augusta, Georgia.

A service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 533 Hayride Road, Gilbert, South Carolina with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2016 at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Batesburg, SC. His grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. The church deacons will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Rev. Milford Oswald and Rev. Mike Keech will officiate.

M.J. was born September 28, 1927 in Leesville, SC to Louis and Ruth Kyzer Hallman. He was married to the late Mary Oswald Hallman for 60 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

M.J. was a gentle, kind, quiet man who loved his Lord, church, family and friends. He worked in the textile industry and enjoyed working on the family farm. He especially enjoyed sharing the harvest of his gardens with others. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Gilbert in his later years but fondly recalled his years of service at Seivern Baptist Church in Wagener.

M.J. is survived by his son, Steve (Gayle) Hallman of Leesville; daughters, Amanda “Mandy” (Donald) Fulmer of Wagener; Angela “Angie” (Mark) Harden of Leesville; eight grandsons; ten great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson; sisters, Margaret Senterfeit of South Congaree and Frances Willis of Columbia. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, brothers Lewie B. Hallman and Archie Hallman and a great-great grandson.

M.J. claimed many as his “family”. The family wants to express heartfelt thanks to many who supported him through his life’s journey. The family is very appreciative for the wonderful care he received at the VA Hospice unit. They provided compassionate care to him and the family.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 533 Hayride Road, Gilbert, SC 29054.
