It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nicholas Brevoort Hofmann, who departed this world on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, at the age of 89. A loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Nicholas passed away peacefully at his residence in Aiken, South Carolina.

Nicholas was born on Tuesday, May 7th, 1935, in Middletown, New York, to the late Nicholas Karl and Evelyn Hofmann. He was preceded in death by his cherished first wife, Janet Mayo Hofmann; his beloved daughter, Cynthia Anne Hofmann; and his brothers, Wade and Joseph Hofmann.

Nicholas is survived by his loving wife, Alice Hofmann, with whom he shared many happy moments since their marriage in September 2003. He leaves behind a family who adored him, including his son, Kurt Hofmann, and daughter-in-law, Karen, of Bluffton, SC; his daughter, Amy Hofmann-Reardon, and son-in-law, Scott, of Kennett Square, PA; and his stepson, Daniel Nephew, and daughter-in-law, Maureen, of Needham, MA.

A doting grandfather, Nicholas was cherished by his six grandchildren: Patrick and Erin Hofmann, Katherine and Alex Collins, Maggie and Ryan Brown, Tyler and Madison Howard-Reardon, Austin Hofmann-Reardon, and Julia Nephew. He was further blessed with three great-grandchildren: Wesley Collins, Charlotte Collins, and Molly Brown.

Nicholas honorably served in the Army before pursuing a successful career. He initially worked with Singer before becoming an executive with Offray Ribbon and later pursuing entrepreneurship with his own company, WFR. Known for his dedication, Nicholas remained passionate about his career until his retirement.

Besides his professional endeavors, Nicholas was also an engaged community member with affiliations including the Police Athletic Mentoring League and Guardian Ad Litem, and he enjoyed ushering at Grace. A true golf enthusiast, he was an active member of Woodside and its Golf Men's Golf Association. In 1997, Nicholas embraced the community at Woodside warmed by his passion for golf, reading, the Yankees, and spending quality time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

Nicholas loved to explore places far and near and embodied the spirit of a world traveler during his years working with Offray. He touched many hearts, not just through his travels or career, but through his kindness and unwavering dedication to those dear to him.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 11:00am in the sanctuary of Grace Church, 144 Talatha Church Road, Aiken, SC 29803. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:30 pm at the Woodside Plantation Country Club, 1000 Woodside Plantation Drive, Aiken, SC 29803.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lafayette College in memory of both Nicholas and Cynthia Anne Hofmann. Contributions may be mailed to Lafayette College, Development and College Relations, 307 Markle Hall, Easton, PA 18042.
