Phyllis Mary Sabine

A funeral Mass for Mrs. Phyllis Warner Sabine will be celebrated by Rev. James LeBlanc on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 10am at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken. Mr. Sabine will receive friends immediately after the Mass at Smith Hall. Interment will take place at Bare Plain Cemetery, North Branford, CT. Memorial donations may be directed to ACTS, 340 Park Ave. SW Aiken, SC 29801. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center 211 Park Ave. SW is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Sabine, 83, of Graniteville, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Pepper Hill Nursing Center, Aiken.

A daughter of the late Chauncey T. and Caroline Lewis Warner, she was born in Hamden, CT and had lived in Crown Point, IN, Lombard, IL, Oakland, NJ and Bay City, MI before moving to Graniteville in 1988. Phyllis taught Spanish at the high school and elementary school level. Locally, she had served as a volunteer teacher at J. D. Lever Elementary School in the early 1990's. She was an accomplished golfer and was a past president of the Midland Valley Women's Golf Association and the CSRA Women's Golf Association. She was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, George G. Sabine, Jr. whom she married in 1949.
