Richard Carl "Carolina Cornbinder" Padgett, Sr

Richard Carl “Carolina Cornbinder” Padgett, Sr., of Ward, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, March 1, at his home.

Carl was born in Saluda County, son of the late Jeff and Lula Mae Jackson Padgett. He loved camping, fishing, his family and friends. He was a lifetime trucker.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Padgett; children, Debbie Martin (Don) ; Marie Dowd (Roy) ; J. Kojak Padgett (Lisa) ; Carla Trotter (Keith Holsenback); Richard Padgett (Ruth) ; fifteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; sister, Majorie Enlow; sisters-in-law, Sallie Padgett; Frances Branham; brother-in-law, Marvin Branham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
