Robert Lloyd Dotter

A visitation for Mr. Robert "Bobby" Lloyd Dotter will be held Monday, December 4, 2006 from 6-8pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Aiken SPCA.

Mr. Dotter, 86, of Aiken, died Sunday, November 26, 2006 at University Hospital, Augusta.

Mr. Dotter was born in Newport, KY to the late Robert Thomas and Pauline Schultz Dotter. Mr. Dotter lived most of his life in Aiken. Bobby was a licensed horse trainer, jockey and owner of Silver Bluff Farms. Bobby also rode in the Kentucky Derby and served in the Army as a horse breaker. As a trainer, Bobby's horses won many trophies, and his name was well known in the horse racing community.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dotter was predeceased by his brothers, Leo and Tom Dotter and his sister Rosemary Zahl. Bobby is survived by his son, Robert Lee Dotter, and daughter, Mary Ann Dotter.
