Robert M. Quarles

Funeral services for Mr. Robert ?Bobby? M. Quarles will be held Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 2pm at Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this afternoon from 4-6pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken. Mr. Quarles, 76, of Aiken, died Friday, September 28, 2007 at the VA Medical Center, Augusta.

Born in McCormick County, SC, he was the son of the late Bryant and Louise White Quarles. He moved to Aiken in 1965 from Edgefield, SC. He attended McCormick High School and was married on March 2, 1952 to Audrey McDowell. He was a member and deacon at Memorial Baptist Church. He loved raising miniature ponies, donkeys, and being outdoors. He was also a Mason.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, two sisters, and grandson, Wes Jeffcoat. He is survived by his wife, Audrey McDowell Quarles, daughters, Candais Blake Franklin, Charleston, SC, Sharon Les Ready, Terri Steve Sullivan, both of Aiken, Pam Larry Sanders, Gaffney, SC, brother, Lonnie Elsie Quarles, Edgefield, sisters, Mary Shaffer, Lexington, SC, Brenda Wayne Cassel, Greer, SC, Doris Leonard Bryant, Greenwood, SC, ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
