Robert Steven "Stevie" Cockrell

Robert Steven “Stevie” Cockrell, 62, of Batesburg, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 6, at Ridge Crest Memorial Park with Rev. Reynolds Williams officiating. The family will receive friends after the service. Active pallbearers will be Lee Wood, Jimmy Mundy, Gene “Coot” Oswald, Bret Davis, Terry Hook and Brandon Boley.

Mr. Cockrell was born in Columbia, SC, a son of Margie Asbill Shealy and the late Robert B. Cockrell. He was a logger for nearly 50 years. Mr. Cockrell was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Robbie S (Melissa) Cockrell; grandchildren, Nora Ruth and Evie Cockrell; brothers, Jeff Cockrell, Ken Shealy; sister, Teresa Owens; longtime special friend, Teresa Mabus; nieces, Karen Gravely, Jessica West; and nephews, Mitchell Gravely and Trayton Cockrell.
