Robert Wayne Smith

Robert Wayne Smith, 70, of Batesburg – Leesville, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 15, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with a Honor Military Service. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Sunday, July 14, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith was born November 22, 1948 at Fort Jackson Military Base, Columbia, SC. He was the son of the late Lucille A and George H Chapman. He was a veteran with the United States Marine Corp. For the past 39 years he was a traveling minister for the Lord. He loved bringing people closer to God.

Surviving are his son, Ryan Smith of Charleston, SC; daughters, Robyn Horne (Steve) of Saluda, Renee Boatwright (Tim) of Batesburg-Leesville; brothers, J. Wilbur Smith, G. Brent Chapman, Bruce E. Chapman (Sandra); sister, Barbara S. Reaves (Jesse) all of Batesburg-Leesville; grandchildren, Savannah and Whit Smith, Steven, Jordan and Ava Horne, Breanna and Hannah Boatwright; great grandchildren, Zimarr and Connor Horne; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Ora A. and Herbert Anderson; and a sister, Brenda S. Lomax.
