Roy Rodgers

Roy Walter Rodgers, 69, of Ward died Saturday, June 4, 2022. Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late Albert William Rodgers and Martha Padgett Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers loved to fish, cook, and spend time with family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters, Connie Ray (Roy), and Patricia Bodie (Lee); sons, Kenneth Whitfield (Rejeana), and Lester Whitfield (Kim); grandchildren, Jesse Crawford, Breanna Bodie, Ashley Bodie, Addison Bodie, Stephen C. Whitfield, Jeffery Whitfield, Austin Whitfield, Brad Whitfield, Alyssa Whitfield; great-grandchildren, Bryce Ingram and Benson Ingram. He is also survived by his siblings, Randy Rodgers, Steve Rodgers, Eugene Rodgers, Judy Wootton, and Donna McCormick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann McCormick Rodgers.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at St. William Catholic Church, Fellowship Hall, 1199 Ridge Spring Highway, Ward, South Carolina. Family and friends will reside at the home of Mr. Rodgers brother, Steve Rodgers.

The family would like to give special thanks to MSA Hospice, his caretaker Breanna Bodie, and Dr. Bill Sawyer along with the staff at Saluda Family Medical.
