Royal Charles Overman, Jr., 84, of Trenton, died Saturday, February 21, 2026, at his home. Born in Dallas, Texas, he was the son of Royal Charles Overman Sr.. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired after many years of dedicated service. Following his military career, he worked at the Aiken County Recycling Facility and served for many years as an umpire, a role he greatly enjoyed.
Mr. Overman loved watching television, especially football games, and was an avid fan of the sport. He was also a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, where he valued the fellowship of fellow veterans.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Earline Smith Overman; his children, Margaret Garrett (Michael), Thomas Smith (Macy), Kenneth Ruth, and Samantha Kelly; six grandchildren, Ashley, Christopher, Amber, Brandy, Tomas, and Marcus; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings.
No formal services will be held.
Mr. Overman will be remembered for his faithful service to his country, his dedication to his community, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
