Funeral services for Ruby Mae Bowers Folsom, 94, of West Columbia, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 14, at Holland Avenue Baptist Church with interment following at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens with Rev. Charles Wilson and Rev. Dow Welsh officiating. Active pallbearers will be Ron Nations, Carrol Crawford, Bruce Hulion, Frank Long, George Richardson and Bill Arnold. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday evening at Holland Avenue Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Holland Avenue Baptist Church, 801 12th Street, Cayce, SC 29033. Mrs. Folsom passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Born in Cassatt, SC, she was the daughter of the late Landy Edward Bowers, Sr. and Bessie Irene Peach Bowers. She was a member of Holland Avenue Baptist Church, and very much enjoyed the fellowship of her Sunday School Class--"Faith, Hope, and Love". She retired from Pacific Mills after 43 years of loyal service. She was a member of the Pacific Park Wellness Center, where she enjoyed packing meals for the Meals on Wheels program for over 25 years. Ruby was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh together with her family and friends. She was also a great source of wisdom based of her faith, many years of hard work, and life experience. Mrs. Folsom was pre-deceased by her husband, Wilson Folsom; her son, John E. Folsom, Sr; sister, Pearl Folsom; and brother, Guy E. Bowers. Surviving is her daughter, Jean Burroughs of Cayce; grandchildren, Danny Burroughs (Susan); Andy Burroughs; Eddie Folsom (Kim); and Chris Folsom (Karen); great grandchildren, Daniel Thompson; Christina Burroughs; Ashley Folsom; Lauren Folsom; Jenna Williams; Jared Williams; and Jennifer Gibson (David); great-great grandchildren, William Gibson; Morgan Gibson; and Roy Ned Gibson; sisters, Viola Stokes of Camden; Betty Kelly of Cassatt; and Mary McGee of Columbia; brothers, Landy "Red" Bowers, Jr. of Cassatt; Paul Bowers of Camden; and Robert Bowers of West Columbia.
