Ruby Helen North

Ruby Helen Peace North, 83, of Saluda, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Mrs. North was born in Wharton, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Elmer and Nannie Hill Mays. She was a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church of Saluda. Mrs. North enjoyed working in her yard and being a housewife. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

Surviving are her daughters, Frankie Peace (Esther Isom), Judy Kay North Bryan (Wayne); step-son, Thurston North (Kathy); step-daughter, Debbie Goodin (Gary); grandchildren, Brandon Bryan (Katilyn) and Brittin Padgett (Russ); along with her great grandchildren, Malani, Tennessee, Ridge, Brecken, Ella, and Millie Jean. Also surviving her siblings, Sonia Kelley, Virginia Miracle Powell (Wallace), Judy Goff Cameron, Shirley Mays Peace, and Freddy Mays (Debbie); sister-in-law, Joyce Mays and special family friend, Carlin Godke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank "Bud" Peace and Sherman North; daughter, Theresa Kay North; and siblings, Frank Mays, Leroy Mays, Tommy Mays, Benny Mays and Anida Mays.

The funeral service for Mrs. North will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 23rd at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with burial to follow in Travis Park Cemetery. Chaplain Daniel Maggard will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, February 22nd, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home.
