Tammy Leonide McKenzie, 63, of New Ellenton, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026. Born in Coosawhatchie, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Henry Elliott McKenzie and Peggy Griffin Moore. Tammy was a graduate of Silver Bluff High School and retired from Savannah River Plant, where she worked as a clerk. Following her retirement, she lovingly devoted herself to caring for her mother, a role she embraced with patience, compassion, and unwavering dedication.
She found great joy in life's simple pleasures. Tammy loved working in her yard, especially tending to her sunflowers, which reflected her bright and cheerful spirit. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, soaking up the sunshine. Family was the center of her life, and she treasured every opportunity to gather with them. Her great nephew, Cash, held a particularly special place in her heart, and she took great pride in watching him grow.
Surviving are her sister, Penny Franklin (Robert); nieces, Barbara Tabor (James), Kelly Moore and Amanda Moore; and great-nieces and great-nephew, Jordan, Keegan and Cash. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Danny McKenzie and Rusty McKenzie.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Tammy during a visitation from 1:00 until 3:00 o'clock on Saturday, June 6th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Aiken Chapel. A private family burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery.
