Aiken

Tammy (Foster) Mitchell, a beloved daughter, devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 1, 2026, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Born on December 13, 1961, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Tammy was the daughter of Marylyn Foster and the late Edward Foster. She attended high school in Leominster, Massachusetts, before earning her degree in early childhood education from Fitchburg State College. She went on to earn her master's degree in Dayton, Ohio.

Tammy's compassion and desire to help others guided her through a meaningful, 30-year career serving young children with disabilities. Through her work, she offered care, encouragement, and opportunity to children and their families, leaving a legacy of kindness that reached well beyond her own home.

In July 1988, Tammy married Randy Mitchell, beginning a life together rooted in love and devotion to family. Her family was at the heart of all she held dear, and she treasured the time they shared. She also found joy in crafting, her love of horses, and peaceful moments spent on the beach beside the ocean.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband, Randy Mitchell; her mother, Marylyn Foster; her sons, Joshua Mitchell of Kokomo, Indiana, and Brandon Mitchell of Fort Wayne, Indiana; her daughter-in-law, Jean Mitchell; sister-in-law Suzanne Ellis, Cindy Foster, and Jerri Mitchell, Brother-in-law Nick Mitchell and her four beloved grandchildren, Presley Mitchell, Emma Mitchell, Rowen Mitchell, and Tatum Mitchell. She also leaves her brother, Jeffery Foster along with many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Edward Foster, and her brother, Christopher Foster.

Tammy's life was a beautiful expression of love, compassion, and service. She will be deeply missed and tenderly remembered by those who knew her, and her love will remain a lasting presence in the lives of her family.
