Tinsley Layne Gettys

Tinsley Layne Gettys passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 10, 2022. A celebration of her precious life will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, February 14th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.

Tinsley was born on January 31st at 6:06 P.M. and was given the name Tinsley the Tiger by the NICU nurses. During her 10 short days here on Earth, she touched many lives and was so deeply loved by family and friends.

Tinsley is the beloved daughter of Andrew and Kelly McIlvried Gettys. She leaves behind her paternal grandparents, Marcia Gunter (Jody), John Gettys, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Steve McIlvried (Barbara); paternal great grandparents, Lamar Smith, Christine Oswalt (Doug), John Gettys, Sr. (Ann). Also left to cherish her memories are her uncles and aunts, Josh McIlvried (Jessica), Caleb McIlvried (Allie), Marshall and Cooper Gettys; her special "sister cousin", Sawyer Blake McIlvried; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Liz Smith.
