Vonnie Elaine Rutland

Vonnie Elaine Whitlock Rutland, 77, of Ridge Spring, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 10, 2025. Born in Aiken County, she was the daughter to the late Connie Bodie Whitlock and R. Vernon Whitlock. Vonnie was the supportive wife of Guy E. Rutland, of Ridge Spring, for 60 years.

Vonnie was the Vice-President of Rutland Air Inc. for over 20 years, owner of the former florist, Country Boukay, and affiliated with the banking industry in the 70’s and 80’s. She was a member of Ridge Spring Baptist church for nearly 60 years and served on numerous committees over the years. Vonnie was a graduate of Ridge Spring-Monetta High School and Columbia Business College.

She is survived by her loving husband, Guy Rutland of Ridge Spring; son, Mark (Tara) of Ridge Spring; daughter, Lynn (Jody) of Florida; and her adored grandchildren, Raegan, Morgan and Lakelan (Mary Ashlyn). She is also survived by her sister, Kitty (Michael) Crumpton and nephew, Barrett Crumpton all of Saluda.

The service to celebrate Vonnie's life will be held at 3 o'clock on Thursday, March 13th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service at 2 o'clock. A private family graveside service will be held following the service.
