William Andrew "Billy" Holmes Jr

William Andrew "Billy" Holmes, Jr., 84, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022. Mr. Holmes was born in Batesburg, SC, a son of the late William Andrew Holmes, Sr. and Tina Smith Holmes. He was a member of West Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Billy served in the United States National Guard for 11 years and was a law enforcement officer for the Department of Natural Resources for 28 years. He was born with a shot gun in one hand and spinning reel in the other. Mr. Billy never missed an opportunity to go fishing or hunting.

Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Jean Gunter Holmes; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas A. Holmes (Geniene); and daughter, Kim Holmes. Also surviving are his 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Mac Holmes.

A family and friends gathering for Mr. Billy will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 25th, at West Creek Baptist Church. Everyone is invited to honor Mr. Billy by bringing your favorite covered dish. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Creek Baptist Church, 400 Church Road, Batesburg, SC 29006.
