William Mintz

William Fred Mintz, 82, of Saluda, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021. A service for Mr. Mintz will be held at a later date.

Mr. Mintz was born in Wilmington, NC, he was a son of the late Arnold and Gladys Gore Mintz. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Mintz worked for the University of North Carolina-Wilmington as a campus police officer, and later retired from Time Warner Cable. He loved fishing, bowling, and most of all he loved his family.

Surviving is his loving wife of 42 years, Carolyn Mintz; step-daughters, Brenda Miller, Donna Carpenter (Marlin); grandchildren, Eryka Day (Chris), Dale Singletary, Melissa Singletary, Joshua Singletary (Krista), Marlin Carpenter III (Amanda), Timothy Carpenter; and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Jessie Mintz and Arnold Mintz, Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jarrott Thompson, and siblings, Vicki Wheeles, and Wilbert Mintz.
