William Whitman

William Crowell "W. C." Whitman passed away on January 22, 2021 at Pruitt Health Hospice in Rock Hill, SC. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. April 16th, at Ridge Crest Memorial Park with Rev. Mitchell W. Bruner officiating. Guest are requested to wear a mask.

W.C. was born on May 8, 1922 in Batesburg, the son of the late Samuel and Theola Whitman of Batesburg, SC. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School.

He is survived by a son, Mark Whitman of Hilton Head; two sisters, Jeri W. Allen and Shelby W. Sapp (Jimmy) of Rock Hill; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant son, William Crowell Whitman, Jr. and a sister, Peggy W. Threatt
